Top Shelf Productions unveiled the cover for book 2 of March yesterday in an interview with the three creators of the book on CNN. (Chris Ross of Top Shelf posted some comments about the process of refining the cover on his Twitter.)
Slated to be released in early 2015, the second volume of Congressman John Lewis’s award-winning memoir of the civil rights era, coauthored by Andrew Aydin and illustrated by Nate Powell, will pick up where the first book left off. The first volume is framed around the inauguration of President Obama, and the second volume will continue the story in the same way. Book 1 garnered much acclaim: It was a New York Times best seller, a Coretta Scott King honor book, an ALA Notable book, and one of YALSA’s Top Ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens.
The second volume is expected to be longer than the first volume and cover the years 1961-63 of the civil rights movement.
